The blasts that rippled through London's transport network |
Colloquially known as 7/7, the 7 July 2005 London bombings stay etched on the minds of those who bore witness to what was arguably the worst terrorist attack to befall London. The official count of 56 deceased includes the alleged perpetrators. This BBC report aired on the evening of that fateful day, and particularly discernible is the confusion as regards the timing of the explosions in the Underground network. A revised report put out by the Metropolitan Police revealed that the blasts were simultaneous, and synchronized timed detonators were likely employed to trigger those explosions, all three timed at 8:50 BST. The fourth bomb detonated on a London bus in Tavistock Square at 9:47 BST, killing 13. |
